Training
Hamton Hills Equestrian offers training for both English and Western disciplines as well as colt starting. Head trainer, Kassidy, has a wide variety of experience in multiple disciplines and has trained a multitude of different horses from the show jumping ring to ranch horses.
Kassidy believes in preparing a horse for success. A principle she likes to follow is to teach the horse the answers before you ask the questions. She strives to gain a connection with each horse in order to establish a respectful relationship. Allowing the horse to be confident and using a set of exercises to get the horse using the "thinking side" of its brain makes for a much easier training process. The horse will come out of its training program a successful and willing partner for its owner.
All horses will receive an individual pen with their own water source, hay, loose mineral and salt block.
Colt Starting - $850.00/month board included. The horse is required to stay with us for a minimum of 60 days. We will start older horses provided there is an understanding that the older horse learns a little differently. Pending an evaluation with your horse the monthly training rate may change.
Tune Ups/Miles - $800.00/month board included. Horse must be able to walk/trot/canter under saddle. 5-6 days per week riding, will refine all body control and can work on specific issues the rider is having.
Halter Training - $550.00/month board included. 30 day commitment. For horses of any age. Catching, leading, tying, feet handling, and basic lunging skills are what will be taught during your horses time with us.
"Problem" Horses - Contact us to discuss any issues you are having with your horse and we will see if we are able to help. Rate is based on individual horse and will be decided upon assessment.
With all of our training programs, we encourage the owners to come view their horse as often as they like during their training. One riding lesson is included with the price of the colt starting and tune up programs, which can be used at any point during the last week of the horse's time with us.
